Austin Counseling Service offers a comprehensive range of mental health services including individual counseling, couples counseling, family therapy, anxiety and depression support, trauma recovery counseling, and youth and adolescent counseling. Each service is delivered by licensed professionals using evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to your specific needs and goals.

Getting started is simple. You can contact us through our website contact form, request a free quote on our homepage, or reach out via email at info@austincounselingservice.com. We will schedule an initial consultation where we discuss your concerns, answer your questions, and match you with the right counselor. There is no obligation during the initial conversation.

Yes, we offer secure telehealth sessions for clients across the United States. Our video counseling platform is HIPAA-compliant and provides the same quality of care as in-person sessions. Telehealth is ideal for clients who prefer the convenience of meeting from home or who live outside our immediate service area. You can discuss telehealth options during your initial consultation.

The duration of counseling varies based on individual needs and goals. Some clients benefit from short-term counseling (8-12 sessions) focused on specific issues, while others engage in longer-term therapy for deeper exploration and ongoing support. During your initial assessment, your counselor will discuss a recommended timeline and regularly review progress with you. You always have control over how long you continue therapy.

Confidentiality is a cornerstone of our practice. What you share in counseling sessions is protected by professional ethics and state law. There are limited exceptions, such as imminent danger to yourself or others, suspected abuse of children or vulnerable adults, or court orders. Your counselor will explain confidentiality fully during your first session so you can feel safe sharing openly.

Your first session is primarily an opportunity to get to know your counselor and discuss what brings you to therapy. Your counselor will ask about your current concerns, personal history, and goals for counseling. You will also have time to ask questions about the therapeutic process. There is no pressure to share more than you are comfortable with. The goal is to establish trust and begin developing your personalized treatment plan.

Our individual sessions start at $99 per 50-minute session, with comprehensive monthly packages and family session rates also available. We offer flexible payment options and can provide documentation for out-of-network insurance reimbursement upon request. Please contact us for detailed pricing information and to discuss which plan best fits your needs and budget.

Absolutely. Our wellness products, including journals, self-care kits, workbooks, and therapeutic resources, are available to anyone through our online shop. These products are designed to support mental health and can be used independently or alongside professional counseling. Simply browse our products page, add items to your cart, and complete checkout. A representative will contact you to confirm your order.

We take care to match you with a counselor whose expertise aligns with your needs. During your initial contact, we will ask about your concerns, preferences, and any specific requirements. Factors like therapeutic specialty, approach style, and availability are all considered. If you ever feel the match is not right, we encourage you to discuss this openly so we can find a better fit.

We ask for at least 24 hours notice for session cancellations or rescheduling. This allows us to offer the time slot to other clients who may be waiting for appointments. Late cancellations or missed sessions may be subject to a fee. We understand that emergencies happen and will work with you on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to change your appointment.
